One of the key pillars of BRM's 60th-anniversary celebrations has been a unique 'Feature Exhibition' entitled 'The Team That Beat The World' over an original 6-month but now extended period staged, at Silverstone's spectacular interactive museum.
The exhibition details the story of BRM from the early days of Raymond Mays' and Peter Berthon's initial idea and quest to secure sponsorship for the venture, through the securing of support from more than 350 British Companies, the V16 era, the trial and tribulations of the '50's, the first Grand Prix Win in 1959 and the huge success that followed in the early and mid-60s, BRM's innovations and 17 Grand Prix wins, its drivers and team members, through to the last factory backed season in 1974.
The exhibition also features some of the BRM silverware from the BRM archive, including the 1962 Constructors Trophy
The SIM has welcomed more than 200,000 visitors so far, all of whom will have access to the exhibition, and we are delighted that the exhibition has now been extended at Silverstone's request to run into the 1st quarter of 2023.
The BRM team are also in talks with the SIM team to ensure that there is a permanent BRM feature in the main exhibition - a fitting tribute to Britain's first F1 Team.
